For Parents
Searching for child care can be very stressful.
Believe in yourself, and understand that as a
parent, you are best able to evaluate and choose
care for your child. Child Care Resource & Referral
is here to assist in that evaluation.
What is a Child Care Referral?
During a 15 minute phone conversation we will record
your child care needs, as well as review the process
for finding child care including how to determine
the quality of a program. We will also discuss where
(location) child care is needed, what type of child
care will work best for your family, how soon you
need care and any other needs that may affect your
child care search. Then, we use the information you
provide to run a search of our child care database
and identify child care providers who may meet your
child care needs. Referrals may be provided in a
variety of ways including email, fax, or mail. If
for any reason the original referrals do not work,
you are welcome to call back for another search and
we will expand the search area and/or change your
search criteria.
A Referral is Not a Recommendation
Child Care Resource and Referral makes child care
referrals, not recommendations. We refer parents to
licensed programs; however, some preschools and
school age programs are exempt from licensing. We do
not guarantee the accuracy of the information
concerning any provider in our files. We do not
license, endorse, or recommend any particular
provider, nor do we make any judgment about the
quality of care given by any provider. Consequently,
we urge parents to interview a provider and to check
the provider’s references carefully before leaving a
child in that provider’s care.
