Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota
Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota (PCAMN) was incorporated in 1979 as Parents Anonymous of Minnesota by a small group of volunteers led by staff from the Wilder Foundation. The organization received a charter from Parents Anonymous, Inc., a national child abuse prevention organization, and began offering confidential and compassionate group support to parents and children who were at risk for abuse or neglect. In 1997, the name of the organization was officially changed to the Family Support Network. In 1998 the organization was chartered as the state chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America (formerly the National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse). In 2003, the name was changed to Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota. The support group is named Circle of Parents in keeping with the national support group names.
